Dirk Rees

Born in Cape Town and raised in Germany, I’m a London-based advertising photographer – shooting globally. My Afro-European perspective and passion for travel, has generated ongoing creative collaborations with leading Ad agencies around the world.

It was my extensive travel in Africa that fueled my passion for landscapes and natural environments in my early photographic work. My ongoing creative experimentation is inspired by my love for creating a powerful and emotional narrative.

My creative style for both my personal and commissioned work, aims to capture a diverse and authentic study of the human form at its most compelling moments. Some of my ongoing personal projects include a series of portraits from various African tribes, the study forms part of a wider project focusing on sub cultures throughout Africa and the way they express themselves through movement and dance.
